
Civil20
Civil20 (C20) is the formal civil society engagement group of the G20, established in 2013 during Russia G20 Presidency, providing a platform for organizations, thought leaders, and global civil society voices to contribute to global policy discussions. Through inclusive dialogue, collaboration, and evidence-based recommendations, C20 works to ensure that the perspectives and needs of communities worldwide are reflected in shaping a more equitable, sustainable, and people-centered global future.

International Advisory Board
Comprising experts in civil engagement and policy, the Advisory Board ensures the continuity during the different years and is responsible for maintaining the legitimacy in coherence with the C20 Principles.

G20 South Africa 2025
Under South Africa’s Presidency, Civil20 is advancing priorities centered on equity, sustainable development, and African-led perspectives. It aims to deepen collaboration across civil society networks while ensuring that global policy recommendations are grounded in real community needs and contribute to long-term, people-centered impact.

G20 Brazil 2024
During Brazil’s Presidency, Civil20 focused on social inclusion, climate justice, and reducing structural inequalities. The platform amplified voices from diverse communities, particularly from the Global South, fostering dialogue on sustainable development, food security, and participatory governance.

G20 India 2023
Under India’s G20 Presidency, Civil20 emphasized inclusive development, women-led growth, and the expansion of digital public infrastructure. It strengthened civil society participation in policy dialogue, highlighting the importance of grassroots innovation, financial inclusion, and values-driven leadership in shaping equitable global outcomes.

G20 Indonesia 2022
Indonesia’s G20 Presidency centered around “Recover Together, Recover Stronger,” with priorities including global health architecture, sustainable energy transition, and digital transformation. Civil20 working groups also highlighted civic space protection, democratic participation, and inclusive policy development.

G20 Italy 2021
Under the Italy G20 Presidency in 2021, Civil20 focused on people-centered recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing social protection, climate responsibility, health equity, and inclusive economic development. Discussions emphasized civil society participation, equality, digital transformation, and global cooperation for sustainable recovery.
